Job Title:

Powder Coater Operator

Summary:

Operate powder coater unit. Cleans metal wire cloth. Applies powder paint finish.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

include the following, other duties may be assigned

 

  • Regular attendance is required, with proper notification for absences, in accordance with the company Attendance Policy.
  • Weigh mill rolls before and after coating, and document findings.
  • Sew on and cut off mill rolls.
  • Monitor coating unit while in operation.
  • Supply coater unit with powder as needed.
  • Perform daily checks on powder feed system.
  • Perform clean up on machinery as needed.
  • Record data from each roll coated.
  • Assist in department, as needed.
  • Hanover location only – perform color change overs.

Education and/or Experience:

Ability to read and write.
Ability to use simple hand tools.

Language Skills:

Ability to read a limited number of two and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed one or two step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional variables.

Safety:

Employees must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required in each production department. Employees are required to follow all safety rules as outlined in the Employee Handbook.

The employee is occasionally required (less than 1/3 of the time) to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

 

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move (up to 1/3 of the time) up to 100 pounds.

 

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works (2/3 and more of the time) near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, and vibration.

 

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Must work well with others.

 

There is a potential of fire (flash) at the powder coating operation. Operators are required to attend regular fire extinguisher training.

 

Overtime is required as needed.
