Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Researches, plans, designs, develops, budgets, builds and tests mechanical devices related to our present or proposed product lines. Information and data from various sources must be considered such as customer provided proposals, specifications or manuals as well as known industry knowledge and practices.
Plans and oversees personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment. Develops the methods and procedures needed for testing the products or systems.
Directs or coordinates the fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications while meeting all safety regulations.
Coordinates the operation, preventive maintenance and repair activities to obtain optimum utilization of machines and equipment.
Needs an understanding of the basic concepts of Electrical or Controls Engineering to best achieve functional machine interface with other company systems.
Confers with management, suppliers and other staff members regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to minimize plant production interruptions during the project.
Develops project plans, coordinates all project aspects, communicates changes and progress, completes projects on time and within budget.
Balances team and individual responsibilities, contributes to building a positive team spirit, puts success of the team above one’s own interests, helps build morale and group commitments to company goals and objectives and supports everyone’s efforts to succeed.
Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, plans for additional resources when needed, sets project goals and objectives, organizes or schedules other people and their tasks while developing realistic action plans.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (BS, BE or BME) from a four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Ability to work with any mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry or the like as needed.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a thorough knowledge of AutoCAD
and should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Approximately 5% travel is required.
